Almost everyone in this generation is blogging. But, compared to its current success now, years ago, its purpose was merely different. Today, blogging is so general that not everyone reads the content. Almost 80% of people will only scan the list of available blog posts. Some may click a title and read the headline but eventually stops even before finishing on the first paragraph. That shows people seem desensitized to blog posts. Yes, it may take a pinch on their interest, but it is not enough to guarantee them to read the full content.
Allow The Process Of Conversation
It is necessary to realize that not all readers share the same interest. Therefore, it is your obligation as a blogger to find the most engaging topic that can entirely create a writer-audience conversation. You must avoid content that only talks about you all the time. Focus on building a relationship with your audience by asking questions. These may include their opinions regarding a subject matter. Or allow them to comment positively and negatively on your chosen topic. Besides, the more they feel the urge of agreeing and disagreeing with you means you are creating an impact as a blogger.
Avoid Overwhelming Your Readers
Even if you think you have all the necessary information that you feel like including in your blog, do not put it altogether. Avoid putting too much stuff in your content only to prove the relevance of it. Do not overwhelm your readers with too much information because they might not be able to grab and retain all of it. Instead, work on your blogging progress by allowing bits of information to sink in. With this, people will look forward to your writing naturally without even asking them to read it.
Break Down Sections Of Your Content
Admit it. There are instances that you write content with fillers on it. Honestly, all writers do that to make their writing appeal to readers. That is okay. But what is not okay is when the whole content does not know when to stop. Meaning, when it doesn’t have a break in some sections, it will look like you are trying to force people to read an article that takes too much of their brain function. Having no section breaks becomes difficult for individuals to internalize what it is about the content. So to make people read your blog, use subheadings.
Use Quality Photos
People love to read. However, their imagination needs to start somewhere. The purpose of putting photos in your article is to make readers stick with your content. Images and graphics help a lot in explaining and conveying the point of your content. Not only it does support a better flow of pause-and-break in reading, but it also allows you to manage your thoughts and ideas thoroughly. Adding photos in content can boost the audiences’ interest in reading the entirety of it.
Remember that a great blog is not about the perfection of the content. It is about how it impacts people. So make sure that your readers read it.
